Citrus Park Locksmith
Lockouts, Rekeys & Car Keys
Houses, townhouses and apartments all over 33625, plus the shops and offices on Gunn Highway, Sheldon Road and Linebaugh Avenue. We let you back into your home once we've confirmed it's yours, rekey after a move or a staff change, fit keypad deadbolts, and make car keys for most makes.
The locksmith Citrus Park trusts
Citrus Park is an unincorporated community in northwest Hillsborough County, with Keystone above it, Northdale to the northeast, Carrollwood on the east side, Town 'n' Country below it and Westchase to the west. The Veterans Expressway cuts straight through it from north to south. The 2020 census counted 28,178 residents and 11,406 homes here, and nearly everyone lives in ZIP code 33625. The Locksmith Shop has been a family business since 2009; our one storefront is at 4556 S Manhattan Ave in South Tampa, and for Citrus Park jobs we drive out to you. Dial (813) 832-4777 and you'll have a free quote before any work begins.
Census figures put about six in ten Citrus Park homes in the detached-house column, with townhouse rows and apartment and condo complexes making up most of the rest, and roughly a third of households here rent. The 1980s were the busiest decade for building, and a large share went up after 2000, so houses from very different decades, with very different locks, sit a few streets apart. For a lockout, the first step is making sure the house is yours: a photo ID showing the address, a lease, or a utility bill in your name. After that we start with entry methods that leave the lock and the door undamaged, and in most cases the lock keeps working just as it did before.
Any move is a good reason to rekey. Buy a house here and you inherit whatever keys the sellers handed to relatives, cleaners and contractors over the years. We rekey every exterior door, the one between the garage and the house included, so a single new key runs them all and the old copies stop turning. Landlords can have the same done before each new lease, with an owner's key that opens every unit and tenant keys that open one. A keypad deadbolt on the door everyone uses gives you codes to hand out and take back, with a keyed cylinder as backup. In a townhouse or condo, your unit door is our job; pools, gates and common doors belong to the association.
The businesses along Gunn Highway, Sheldon Road and West Linebaugh Avenue bring their own short list. A former employee still has a key. The glass front door's lock only catches when somebody tugs it shut. The back door has been copied so often nobody knows who can open it. We rekey or replace the cylinders, service or swap storefront deadlatches, and lay out master keying so the owner carries one key while each employee carries only what the job calls for. On the car side, we cut spare keys, program remotes and push-button fobs, and build a new key beside the vehicle when the last one has gone missing.
Getting around 33625
Gunn Highway and the Veterans Expressway both run through Citrus Park, and Ehrlich Road, West Linebaugh Avenue, Citrus Park Drive, Sheldon Road, Anderson Road and Wilsky Boulevard connect its subdivisions. Citrus Park Town Center sits on the west side of the community, on Citrus Park Town Center Boulevard. The mall opened under that name on March 3, 1999, carried the Westfield name from 2002 until 2020, and has gone back to its original name since.
Neighbors know the area by its landmarks: Citrus Park Elementary and the county's Citrus Park Sports Complex, both on Gunn Highway; Sergeant Paul R. Smith Middle School; and lakes like Lake Armistead and Pretty Lake tucked between the subdivisions.
If you're locked out of your house or car, our lockout service page explains how we handle home and vehicle lockouts during business hours, and car lockout help covers getting a car open without damage. To stop handing out keys at all, see keyless entry for the keypad and smart deadbolts we install.
For shops and offices, storefront door locks is the page for glass entry doors whose lock won't catch or won't throw, and master key systems explains how one owner's key and limited employee keys work together.
Lost the only key to your car? Lost car key replacement walks through how we make a new one at the vehicle, and key fob replacement covers remotes and push-button fobs that died or disappeared.
West of Citrus Park, the villages have their own Westchase locksmith page. Across the line to the east is Carrollwood, Northdale lies to the northeast, and Town 'n' Country is just south.
What we fix most in Citrus Park
Every neighborhood has its own lock profile. Here's what keeps our techs busiest in Citrus Park.
A photo ID with the address, a lease or a utility bill first, then entry that leaves the lock and the door undamaged.
Every outside door, plus the one from the garage, rekeyed to one new key so the sellers' copies stop working.
One code per person who needs a way in, removed when they no longer do, with a keyed cylinder as backup.
Rental houses, townhouses and condos rekeyed before the next lease, with an owner's key that opens every unit.
Cylinders rekeyed after staff changes and glass-door deadlatches serviced for businesses on Gunn, Sheldon and Linebaugh.
Spare keys, remotes and push-button fobs for most makes, and a brand-new key cut and programmed when none are left.

Call (813) 832-4777Citrus Park locksmith FAQ
Which parts of Citrus Park do you cover?+
All of it: every street in 33625, plus the edge of Citrus Park that falls in 33556, from the Keystone line south to West Linebaugh Avenue and on both sides of the Veterans Expressway. Call (813) 832-4777 and we'll quote the job for free.
I'm locked out of my house. What do you need from me?+
Proof that you live there, such as a photo ID with the address, a lease, or a utility bill in your name. We check that before opening anything, then use entry methods that don't damage the lock or the door. If the keys are gone for good instead of sitting inside, we can rekey that lock once you're back in.
We just bought a house here. Rekey the locks, or replace them?+
Rekey any lock that still works smoothly; you keep the hardware and every old key stops working. Replace the ones that are loose, worn or hard to turn, and think about a keypad deadbolt on the door your household uses most. We'll go door by door and tell you which needs what before any work starts.
Someone who left our business still has a key. What should we do?+
Have the doors that key opens rekeyed as soon as you can get on our schedule. If it keeps happening, two changes help: master keying, so each person only holds keys to the doors their job needs, and a keypad on the back door, so one person's access can be removed without new keys for everyone else.
Can you make a car key if I've lost the only one?+
Yes, for most makes. Once you show that the car is yours, we look up the key code by VIN, cut the key and program it to the car right where it's parked. The exception is Mercedes-Benz 2015 and newer, where the dealer is the only source of new keys.
Are you open evenings or Sundays?+
We work Monday to Saturday from 8 in the morning until 8 at night, and Sunday is our day off. There's no crew on call overnight, so a lockout after 8pm goes on the schedule for the next morning we're open.
How much does a locksmith cost in Citrus Park?+
It depends on the job: how many locks, rekeying versus replacing, the hardware you choose, and for a car, the kind of key it uses. Every quote is free, and you'll have yours before we touch anything.
